Manage roles
This topic describes how to manage system roles ande organizational(org) roles.
System roles
View system role details
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System Roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page.
- On the
Basic
page (default), you can viewBasic information
and more.

Set system role permissions
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page.
- On the
Basic
page (default), locate the permissions card on the right. Then select the required permissions and click the Update button above.

Edit system role properties and information
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and click Edit in the
Actions
column. Alternatively click Edit in the top-right corner of the System Role page. - Modify the desired properties or information, then click Submit.
Delete a system role
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and select ··· dropdown menu in the
Actions
column, then click Delete. Alternatively click Delete in the top-right corner of the System Role page. - Confirm the information to be deleted in the popup, then click OK.
Duplicate a system role
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and select ··· dropdown menu in the
Actions
column then click the Duplicate to go to the role creation page.

- Fill in the desired properties or information. Refer to the Create roles.
- Click Submit to create the role, or Save & Continue to create and add more.
Bind user to system role
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page.
- On the
Basic
page (default), clickAuthorized Users
then locate theMembers
card on the right, select users to bind to the role (support multiple selection), and click Add button.

Unbind users from system role
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > System roles.
- In the System roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page, select
Authorized Users
. - In the users list, locate the relevant role and click the - in the
Actions
column to remove the user.

Organizational roles
View org role details
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > Organizational roles.
- In the Organizational roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page.
- On the
Basic
page (default), you can viewBasic information

Set org role permissions
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > Organizational roles.
- In the Organizational roles list, locate the relevant role and click the role name to open the details page.
- On the
Basic

Delete an org role
- In JumpServer, navigate to Console > Roles > Organizational roles.
- In the Organizational roles list, locate the relevant role and select ··· dropdown menu in the
Actions
column, then click Delete. Alternatively click Delete in the top-right corner of the System Role page. - Confirm the information to be deleted in the popup, then click OK.
